RowDocs is operated by KRIBA & Co, Lake Forest, CA, United States. You can reach us at rowdocs@kriba.co, and we answer within two business days.

“We” and “us” below mean KRIBA & Co. “You” means whoever is using the site — as an individual, or on behalf of an organisation that is then bound by these terms too.

Polar Software, Inc. is the merchant of record for every RowDocs purchase. They — not us — are the seller on the transaction, they hold your payment method, they collect and remit any sales tax or VAT, and they issue refunds. Your card statement and your receipt will carry their name, not ours.

That means their terms govern the payment itself, and these terms govern the software you get for it. If the two ever conflict on a question of payment, theirs win. You never have to work out which of us to ask, though: write to us and we will take it from there.

RowDocs is a set of browser-based tools that split, merge, and generate documents from spreadsheets. Every tool runs entirely in your browser: your files are never uploaded, never stored by us, and never seen by us — on the free tier or on Pro. The privacy page shows you how to verify that yourself in about a minute.

Splitting and merging are free and unlimited. Generating documents is free up to 20 rows per run; Pro removes that limit and unlocks filename patterns.

A Pro subscription gives you a licence key. While that subscription is active, you get a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use RowDocs Pro for your own work or your organisation’s work, on as many of your own browsers and devices as you like.

The key is yours; it is not stock. Do not publish it, resell it, or share it outside the person or organisation that bought it. Keys used that way get revoked, and revoking one does not entitle you to a refund of the remaining period.

Your key is validated against Polar Software, Inc. roughly once a day. It is stored in your own browser and nowhere else, which is also why clearing site data logs you out of Pro until you paste it back in.

Pro is sold as $12 per month or $79 per year, in US dollars. Whichever you pick, it renews automatically at the end of each period and charges the same card, at the same price, until you cancel.

You can cancel at any time, from the customer-portal link in your receipt email or by emailing us. Cancelling stops the next charge; it does not cut you off mid-period. You keep Pro until the period you already paid for runs out.

If we ever change the price, it applies from your next renewal and you will be told before that renewal — never retroactively, never mid-period. Refunds and the cancellation mechanics are set out in full in the refund policy.

Use RowDocs for anything lawful that you have the right to do with your own data. What you may not do: resell or rebrand RowDocs as your own product, use it to process data you have no right to process, or attack the site — automated abuse, attempts to break the licence check, that class of thing.

Your files and everything RowDocs generates from them are yours. We claim no rights over them, and could not exercise any if we did: they never leave your machine.

We aim to keep RowDocs up and working, but we do not offer a service level guarantee, and this is not software you should build a critical production pipeline on top of without your own fallback.

Features can change. If we materially reduce what a paid tier does, we will tell Pro subscribers by email first, and you can cancel and take a pro-rated refund of the unused period.

RowDocs is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Spreadsheets are messy and edge cases are real: check the output before you send it to anyone who matters. That is true of every tool in this category, including the expensive ones.

To the extent the law allows, neither party is liable to the other for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses — lost profits, lost data, lost business — arising from the use of RowDocs.

Our total liability to you for any claim is capped at the amount you actually paid for RowDocs in the twelve months before the claim. On the free tier, that is zero, which is the honest consequence of it being free.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

You can stop using RowDocs whenever you like, and cancel a subscription whenever you like. We can suspend or end access if these terms are being broken — key sharing, abuse of the site, unlawful use — and for a paid account we will tell you why.

These terms are governed by the laws of California, United States, and the courts there have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes about them. If you are a consumer somewhere with mandatory local protections, those still apply to you — this clause does not take them away.

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will update the effective date above and email Pro subscribers before the change takes effect. Continuing to use RowDocs after that is acceptance. If you do not accept, cancel — and if the change lands mid-period, ask for the unused part back.
