When MailMergic is the better choice
This page is a comparison, not a takedown. On their own pages, MailMergic does three things RowDocs does not:
- Email delivery. In their words, MailMergic “delivers each one by email” — generated documents go out automatically. RowDocs generates files; sending them is yours to do.
- Filling existing PDF forms. “MailMergic fills your PDF forms from Excel, CSV and Google Sheets” — if you have an AcroForm PDF that must be filled field-by-field, that is their feature. RowDocs renders its own layouts; it does not fill a PDF form you already have.
- Zapier and API. Their Pro plan includes Zapier and API access for wiring merges into other systems. RowDocs has no API.

Does RowDocs watermark documents on the free tier?
No. The free limit is 20 rows per generate run — the output itself is never watermarked, at any tier. MailMergic's Always-Free plan is 25 documents per month with watermarks and requires signup (their pricing page, read 2026-08-12).
Where do my files actually go on each service?
MailMergic's web plans process files on Google Cloud Platform servers in Belgium and store them for up to 7 days — their own pages say so. Their local-processing option is the Offline App at $107–129/mo. RowDocs processes everything in your browser on every tier; open the network tab while a tool runs and watch for yourself.
Can RowDocs email each generated PDF like MailMergic does?
No. RowDocs hands you the files — individually and zipped — and you send them however you already send things. If you need each PDF automatically delivered by email, that is a genuine MailMergic advantage; it is listed in the section above, not hidden.
